WHAT IMPACT MEANS AT Tuf*C
Tuf*C has always been about creating opportunities that go beyond the session itself.
Young people may first come to us to take part, but the impact can go much further — building confidence, developing skills, gaining qualifications, taking on responsibility and progressing into volunteering, employment and leadership.
For us, impact isn’t only about how many people take part. It’s about what young people are able to do next — and the difference they go on to make around them.
That progression can continue full circle. Young people who were once participants can become the coaches, mentors and leaders creating opportunities for those coming next.
PROGRESSION IN PRACTICE

There is no single route through Tuf*C. Every young person starts from a different place and progresses at their own pace.
For some, taking part leads to volunteering. For others, it can open the door to training, qualifications, mentoring, paid work or leadership. As experience grows, young people can take on greater responsibility and begin supporting others.

The pathway is not always linear, and not every young person will follow every stage. What matters is that there is somewhere to progress when they are ready.
That is how the Tuf*C cycle continues: opportunity creates experience, experience develops leaders, and those leaders help create the next opportunity.

The outcomes of Tuf*C are not limited to what happens during a session. Through participation, training, mentoring and real opportunities to take on responsibility, young people can develop personally, practically and professionally.

We also recognise that numbers only tell part of the story. Feedback, individual journeys, partner insight and examples of progression help us understand the wider difference the work is making.
